000° Integrations · OpenCart Available
Email marketing for OpenCart, one free extension.
OpenCart has no API for customers and orders, so the Azimea extension does both jobs: it lets us read your shop and it sends us carts as they happen. Install it, copy two keys, and you are done.
OpenCart 4 · Free extension · No changes to your shop’s files
045° What we bring in from your shop
Everything you need to write to the right person.
Customers, orders and products we read through an address the extension opens for Azimea only. Carts and consent are sent by the same extension, the moment they happen.
- Customers with an account
They become contacts. Newsletter consent arrives through the extension, with its proof: what the person ticked, and when.
- Guest buyers
People who ordered without an account, taken from the orders. Otherwise they would be missing from your list.
- Orders and products
Orders from the last 12 months with their value, and products with price and stock. They feed your segments and the recommendations in your emails.
- Carts, as they happen
The extension sends every cart, anonymous visitors’ included, plus the email typed at checkout. That is what starts the abandoned cart flow.
- Order status
Paid, pending, shipped, cancelled, refunded. Whoever has paid leaves the flow, and revenue is attributed correctly.
- What we never do
We change nothing in your shop: no products, prices, stock or orders. The read keys really can only read.
090° Connecting
Four steps in your OpenCart admin. We handle the rest.
- Upload the downloaded zip in Extensions › Installer.
- In Extensions › Extensions › Modules, install Azimea and open it.
- Under What Azimea reads from the shop, copy the store address, the
Read keyand theRead secretinto Azimea. Azimea gives you the store key and the secret. - Back in the extension, paste the key and the secret, switch on Send events and press Test connection.
Azimea checks the keys on the spot and starts bringing in your data. If something is wrong, it tells you exactly what: wrong keys, the extension switched off or a wrong address.
The Azimea extension for OpenCart
Built only on OpenCart’s event system, with no OCMOD patches. Uninstalling it leaves nothing behind.

135° Key security
Your keys only read. And they stay yours.
You never give us your admin password. The extension makes dedicated read keys that you can replace any time from its page; the old ones stop working at once.
- Encrypted when saved
They never appear again in the interface or in logs, not for you and not for us.
- Signed both ways
Every read we make and every event the extension sends is signed. A request without the right signature is refused.
- Revoke any time
Make new keys in the extension, or uninstall it. From that moment, Azimea can no longer read anything from your shop.
- Audit log
Who connected, changed or disconnected the shop, and when.
180° Requirements
What your shop needs.
An up-to-date OpenCart 4 shop already has all of this. Not sure? Send us your address and we will check.
- OpenCart 4.0.2 or later
The extension runs on 4.0.2.x and 4.1.x, with PHP 8.1 or later. OpenCart 3 is not supported.
- A site on HTTPS
Your shop’s address must start with https://.
- Access to install extensions
An admin account that can use Extensions › Installer.
- Optional: a cron
Every 1–5 minutes, for quicker retries. Its address is on the extension’s page.

Why does the extension do the reading too?
Because OpenCart has no API for customers, orders and products. The extension opens a read address that only Azimea can use, with signed requests, and it also sends carts as they happen. Without “Send events” switched on, orders still sync, but the abandoned cart flow does not start.
Does it change my shop’s files?
No. It uses only OpenCart’s event system, with no OCMOD patches. Its events are registered on install and removed on uninstall.
Will it slow my shop down?
No. Events go into a queue and leave at the end of the request. Retries go out on later visits, at most once every 30 seconds, or from a cron if you set one up.
How is newsletter consent collected?
The way you choose in Azimea: an unticked box at checkout, a note beside the form, or the consent you already collect. The extension only sends consent together with an order or a new account, with the exact words the person saw.
What happens if I disconnect the shop?
We delete the keys and stop any import in progress. The contacts and orders brought in so far stay in your account. You can reconnect any time, with new keys from the extension.
