000° Automated flow · Abandoned cart

Abandoned cart emails for WooCommerce, already written.

Someone reaches checkout and leaves without paying. An hour later they get an email from your shop, and if they still haven’t paid, one more the next day. If they have bought in the meantime, we leave them alone.

045° A cart’s journey

Two emails, a day apart, and a way out.

The flow has its steps set. You switch it on in one click, and Azimea takes each person along this route by itself.

  1. The cart is left at checkout. The free Azimea plugin in your shop tells us about the cart and the email typed at checkout. The flow begins.
  2. Wait one hour. If that hour falls between 22:00 and 08:00, the email goes out in the morning.
  3. Email: “You left something in your cart”, with a “Complete your order” link.
  4. Paid in the meantime? If so, they leave the flow and hear nothing more about this cart.
  5. Wait one day.
  6. Email: “Still thinking it over?”, with a “Visit the shop” link.
  7. An order paid within 5 days of a click counts towards the revenue the flow brought.

090° The email your customer receives

Short, human, no discount.

The first email reminds them what they left behind, with no pressure and no discount code. It goes out from your shop’s domain, with your shop’s name as the sender.

The second email, the next day: “Still thinking it over?”
“Your cart is still there. If you have any questions about the products, just reply to this email — a real person reads it.” Followed by a “Visit the shop” link.

The unsubscribe link and click tracking are added automatically when it is sent.

You left something in your cart

Hi there,

You left something in your cart at our shop. We’ll keep it for you until tomorrow.

Complete your order

If you’ve changed your mind, that’s fine — we won’t email you about this cart again.

You are receiving this email because you bought from us or subscribed. No more emails, please.

135° Why it works

These people already wanted to buy. They just need a reminder.

70.22%of carts abandoned

That is how many carts go unpaid on average, across 50 studies collected by the Baymard Institute. Some people were interrupted, others wanted to compare prices. Some of them come back if someone reminds them at the right moment.

2% · almost 30%Automations make up 2% of emails sent and almost 30% of email revenue.Omnisend, 2026 report
1 hourThe first email goes out an hour after the cart is left at checkout, while they still remember what they chose.
5 daysAn order paid within 5 days of a click in the email counts towards the revenue it brought, only once.

180° The rules that protect your customers

A reminder, not a chase.

A badly done cart email can cost you a customer. The rules below apply by themselves, with nothing to set up.

  • Anyone who pays leaves the flow

If they have ordered in the meantime, they do not get the second email.

  • No pushy discounts

We don’t teach your customers to abandon carts to get a code. You keep your margin.

  • Nothing at night

Nothing goes out between 22:00 and 08:00. Anything due at night goes out in the morning.

  • No more than 3 emails a week

That is the most a person receives from Azimea in a week, across all flows.

  • One-click unsubscribe

Added to every email automatically. Anyone who unsubscribes gets nothing more from your shop.

  • Only people you may email

The email goes out only if the person has a basis: they are a customer or have subscribed. Bounced or complaining addresses are stopped.

What counts as an abandoned cart in Azimea?

A cart with an email address: someone typed it at checkout and left without paying. The free Azimea plugin in your shop sends us the cart. We cannot see someone who leaves before typing an email: we do not have their address yet.

Do you send discounts?

No. The emails remind people of their cart and invite questions, with no discount code. An automatic code teaches customers to abandon carts on purpose, and you lose margin on orders that would have happened anyway.

What if they have bought in the meantime?

They leave the flow. After the first email, Azimea checks whether the order has been paid; if it has, they do not get the second email about this cart.

Where does the link in the email go?

To your shop. WooCommerce does not provide a public address for a customer’s cart, so we do not send a link that could lead to an error.

How do I know how much I recovered?

On the flow’s screen you see the revenue it brought and the orders. An order paid within 5 days of a click in an Azimea email counts towards revenue only once, in your shop’s currency.
